NHL: Lightning Conclude Road Trip with 7-1 Loss

The Tampa Bay Lightning’s road trip reached an inglorious conclusion on Saturday night in Arizona.

The Coyotes scored early and often en route to a 7-1 victory on Saturday.

The loss brought an end to a pair of streaks for the Bolts. Tampa Bay came in riding a three-game winning streak and had earned a point in seven straight contests.

Despite the success earlier on the trip, Saturday just wouldn’t be the Lightning’s night, though.

Jordan Oesterle, Clayton Keller and Derek Stepan all scored in the first period to help the Coyotes build the lead.

Vinnie Hinostroza and Michael Grabner then scored a pair of goals just over three minutes apart in the second period to put the game out of reach for the Lightning.

Adam Erne scored his first goal of the year and the lone tally for the Bolts on a power play midway through the third period.

In his return to Arizona, Louis Domingue suffered his first loss of the season, making 24 saves.

The Bolts now head home and open a two-game homestand on Tuesday vs. the New Jersey Devils.
