PREVIEW: USF Hosts Tulsa Thursday at Raymond James


TAMPA – Coming off its third bye week of the season, USF will close out its six-game home slate with the first-ever visit from Tulsa, which is also coming off a bye, to Tampa on Thursday night.

USF is ranked for a school record 16th consecutive week and is one of three teams in The American to appear in the Top 25: No. 23/20 USF, No. 14/12 UCF (8-0) and No. 18/17 Memphis (8-1).

The Bulls have won eight of their last nine at home. The game will mark head coach Charlie Strong’s 100th as a head coach at three schools.

Bulls QB Quinton Flowers is coming off a USF record 516 total yards at UConn and has two of his top four career passing outings in his last four games.

Senior receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling has as back-to-back 100 yards receiving games. He leads USF with 44 catches for 720 yards five touchdowns.

USF NOTES: Since giving Flowers the complete reins of the USF offense in a 45-24 victory over Syracuse on Oct. 10, 2015, USF has won 26 of its last 31 games and averaged 41.1 ppg over that 31-game span….USF is 18-4 in American Athletic Conference games over the last three seasons….USF has gone 14-2 at home since its 2015 victory over Syracuse, falling only to No. 13 Florida State and Houston in 2017…USF will honor 23 seniors, 10 whom have already graduated, before the game in what will go down as possibly the most accomplished class in program history.
