NASL: Miami FC Overtakes Tampa Bay 3-0 in Preseason Match

The Tampa Bat Rowdies preseason schedule continued, Saturday evening, with a matchup against Miami FC.

The first half was evenly matched with neither side taking control of the match. The Rowdies were the first to get into the attack. Two early corners and a shot put goal keeper Daniel Vega in to action, but he was up to the task.

Michel and Blake Smith combined well on the left side, pushing the Orange and Blue forward. Miami’s first chance came thanks to a solid cross from Hunter Freeman. Freeman’s pass found Stefano Pinho rushing into the box but he could not bring down the pass.

The rest of the first half would see a vicious battle in the midfield as the two squads battled to control possession.

The Orange and Blue started firing on all cylinders in the second half and the goals followed. Michel continued to put pressure on the Rowdies defense with his precise passing and dangerous shots.
Vega came up big again in early in the half, stuffing a point-blank 1v1 chance to maintain Miami’s momentum.

Midway through the second half Pinho exploded for two quick goals.

The first came after he quickly reacted to a deflected pass, finding acres of space once the ball was at his feet. He then calmly slipped the ball past the Rowdies keeper and two on-rushing defenders.

Minutes later Poku slipped a ball through the Tampa backline right to the feet of Pinho, who proceeded to put the ball between the keeper’s legs for his second goal.

Late in the match, the Rowdies were called for a foul in the box, giving the Miami FC a penalty shot. Vincenzo Rennella stepped up to the spot and slotted the ball in the back of the net, securing a 3-0 victory for the Miami FC.
