NBA: Magic Holds Meeting with Marketing Partners

The Orlando Magic recently hosted corporate and premium partners for its annual Partner Activation Summit featuring industry leaders in discussions on the business of sports and value of sports partnerships.

The event provided an opportunity for the Magic’s partners to network, share ideas and hear from some of the top experts in the industry.

This year’s summit featured a keynote address from NBA Chief Marketing Officer Pam El, as well as a panel focused on the mobile device experience and capabilities while attending Magic home games, led by VenueNext Chief Executive Officer/Founder John Paul, Ticketmaster Chief Revenue Officer Cole Gahagan and Experience President Ben Ackerman.

The event also included a one-on-one conversation with Magic Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins, moderated by WDBO and Magic broadcast host Scott Anez.

Specific panel conversations on sports partnership marketing were led by Magic corporate partner brands including Walt Disney World, PepsiCo, Southwest Airlines, Anheuser-Busch and Papa John’s. The event also included interactive breakout sessions with all attendees.

“We’re fortunate to partner with so many great organizations both locally and nationally, using the Orlando Magic brand as a way to drive their sales and marketing objectives,” said Orlando Magic VP of Corporate and Premium Activation Catherine Carlson. “The Activation Summit is our chance to provide value to our partners by pulling them all together to share insights and best practices. The Activation Summit is part of an ongoing Basketball to Business (B2B) year round platform to create synergies among our partners.”

The Partner Activation Summit is in its eighth year and continues to be recognized throughout sports as one of the industry-leading events with both local and national attendees and participants, including last year’s featured conversation with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
