College Baseball: Four N.Y. Teams To “Pitch For A Cure” This Fall

Adelphi University will host the  four-team, two-day “Pitch for a Cure: Strike Out Juvenile Diabetes” tournament Oct. 6-7 at William J. Bonomo Memorial field in Garden City.  Along with the host Panthers, Concordia College, Molloy College and Long Island University Post, all NCAA Division II programs, will compete.

Pitch for a Cure is a non-profit organization which provides assistance to sick and needy children in any capacity, fulfilling children’s wish list throughout the year, supporting families with financial assistance to defray medical expenses and providing assistance to hospitals and childcare facilities in any capacity.

The four schools were all once members of the East Coast Conference (formerly known as the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference).  Molloy and Post are still in the ECC, while Concordia now competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and Adelphi is a member of the Northeast-10 Conference.
